What happens when students don't follow our schoolwide expectations?

LOSS OF DOJO POINT(S)

Teachers will take Class Dojo points when a student has to be redirected to show the Wildcat Way. Teachers use this as a class management tool, where students earn and lose Dojo points throughout the day. It is simply a reminder to a student to get back on track. Teachers normally don’t contact parents when this happens unless the student is consistently losing Dojo points.

LEVEL 1 INFRACTION CONSEQUENCES

If the undesired behavior goes beyond a simple redirection by the teacher, a student may have consequences at school. Usually this consequence consists of a “reflection sheet” (a form we use to reteach expected behaviors), time out, or loss of privileges. Parents will be notified when a child is issued these types of consequences.

LEVEL 2/3 INFRACTION CONSEQUENCES

If a behavior breaks the PCSD Code of Conduct, or when a student has an excessive number of level 1 infractions and reteaching the expectations is not working, students may be sent to an administrator. In these cases, an administrator will contact the parent to inform the parent on what happened and any consequences given as a result of the student’s choices. Consequences range from conference with the student to out-of-school suspension, depending on the frequency and severity of the behavior.
